AIM
The main objective of project AUTOPSY is the design and development of a novel robotic system for critical energy infrastructure inspection in order to identify and prevent failures at the external infrastructures of power plant network of Public Power Corporation (PPC). This objective will be achieved by utilizing the existing technical know-how and the available infrastructures, while introducing pioneering technological methods through the collaboration of the partners of the CERTH, the TWI-Hellas and PPC Innovation Hub.
More specifically, AUTOPSY will develop a swarm of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for the inspection of the critical energy infrastructure and their response in real time. To this end, the core objectives are outlined as follows:
- Prevention of accidents and failures in critical energy infrastructure through preventive inspection
- Reduction of sabotage in critical energy infrastructure facilities.
- Optimal workforce distribution
- Remote communication and dynamic control of the fault monitoring system
The pillars above have as fundamental objective the development of substantial synergy and cooperation among the partners of the CERTH, the TWI-Hellas, and the PPC Innovation Hub.
AUTOPSY project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE
The project stared on July 2020 and will be completed on January 2023T
The scientific responsible and coordinator of the project is Dr. Dimitrios Tzovaras form CERTH-ITI
